Developmental Pool Toys for Toddlers

As an occupational therapist, part of my job is to find fun ways to develop functional skills across the lifespan. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite pool toys to address key developmental areas in young children. Stay tuned for more developmental round-ups for all ages!

  1. Fishing toy

    This toy works on hand-eye coordination, gross palmar grasp, and pincer grasp.

  2. Octopus ring toss

    This ring toss game addresses hand-eye coordination and gross motor skills

  3. Shark grabber

    Using the shark grabber, you can address intrinsic hand muscle strengthening, gross grasp, and hand-eye-coordination

  4. Monkey boat wind up

    The winding component of this toy works to develop fine motor coordination and strengthen pincer grasp and intrinsic hand muscles

  5. Pool book

    This book can be used to work on reading skills, colors, and language
